MOVING ON AND LETTING GO

I hate it when I linger on the past.
But how can I forget the feelings that I once thought would last?

Is it my fault that I’ve loved too much?
Or is your heart really hard to match?

The memories that bring me back to you,
Are the same things that’s killing me too!

Happy to miserable,
Miserable to numb.
I wonder if death would be next?

It wouldn’t be a bad idea
to know that I’ll suffer less
But that will only prove
That I’d fail this test
The test of moving on and letting go

So please get out of my life
Coz it’s hurting me so.

  1. nice.. shows the depth of your emotions 😀

  2. 2zpoint says:

I have known people that I wish were out of my life even though I cared about them. I called our friendship toxic because it was like I was an emotional dump site… and nothing good ever came from being around them. Sounds like this is about some toxic love too. Great job Brixx!
    Have a smile…they’re free! 🙂

    • B says:

      Thanks 2zpoint!

People like them only makes our lives miserable, so why have them around right?
      hahaha
      I’m smiling. See. 🙂

      Thanksies!

      Luvluv,
      B

  3. Bodhirose says:

I liked that the choice to hang in there was taken so that the test would not be failed. I believe too that life is sometimes testing us which can bring us more strength as we forge ahead and leave the hurts behind.

Great topic–we all can relate to!

    Gayle xoxo

    • B says:

      Thanks Gayle.
I actually like writing about negative feelings.
One way or another, a person can relate to it.

      Thanks again!

      Luvluv,
      B

  4. Jamie Dedes says:

    –Someone Is Special–

  10. PinkLady says:

i can feel the pain and i can relate to it. letting go and moving on are the hardest things to do but if it’s any consolation, the pain indeed lessens in time. what a lovely piece!

    A Tranquil Soul

    • B says:

      Thanks love!
If no one can relate to this, im pretty sure, they have not been broken hearted ryt?
      Hahaha

      Thanks again!

      Luvluv,
      B

  11. Wow…so much emotions packed in this…nicely written with cool flows and beautiful rhymes.

    Cheers!

  12. Who can forget the angst of indifference? Nicely stated.
    Victoria

  13. mstevensson says:

Very sad poem, there is always something more out there, even at a low. I think you have hit this message well. Sometimes we just need to part ways. Excellent piece 🙂

  14. Lu Ann says:

I dont think death´s next! keep pressing up!! let him out

  15. Darlene says:

I love how you say happy to be miserable, miserable to be numb. The voice in this piece is really unique and I like how it sounds to my inner ear.

  16. kyoichi says:

When it feels like there’s nothing good anymore, there’s always that one song that can help you move on.

and then MC Hammer plays. everything’s alright again. that, or i’m just weird.

anyway, great read =] you’ll get past this for sure.

    -kyogakura

    • B says:

Kyogura, I’m way over it already.
It’s just that people sometimes dont know that they are hurting someone without them knowing.
So this is a shout out for all of them.
      =)

      Luv,
      B

  17. missbrittab says:

I really like this piece.. Especially the part “Happy to be miserable” That still sticks out to me. And then I like how you move on to say that you’d suffer less if you’d just die -it always seems more easier than just “moving on and letting go”. Great concept here.

Here’s my post for week 31

    Come to Hell.

  18. I hate falling into that sense of nostalgia especially when it comes to something like that cuz i just spiral into a depressed abyss

  19. Beautiful poetry and massage too.
One should love but one should not loose self control.
If one needs to let go, one should move on.
Other person will not go out, one has take the other out.
That is when a person needs a medical advice, before that as long one is enjoying one should enjoy.
Good luck for rally and have a nice day.

  20. Fire and Ice says:

    Nice.
It’s always hard to give up the past, but it takes real courage to look to the future, as the future cannot be predicted and is totally spontaneous.
    I has enjoyed!

  21. anurag says:

    hey,

I can somewhat relate to it somewhere in the past, of course letting go(the one you love) is quite a task.
lovely words used for the representation , liked it.
    happy weekend ahead ,
    🙂

  22. Shawn Bird says:

    Common theme, I see!

    English teacher hat:
in the 3rd stanza is a subject/verb agreement error. MemorieS … thingS that ARE (not IS) killing me. So it should be ” that’re” instead of “that’s”

I like the short stanzas and rhyme.

  24. yuuki-chan says:

It’s push and pull, or falling back into non-existent arms.

      Yes.
And there’s really no easy way out.
It’s just either HARD or HARDER.

      =(

      =)

      Luv,
      B

  30. ogungbesan20 says:

I HAD NOT REALIZE THAT I MUST HAVE SPENT OVER THIRTY MINUTES ON YOUR BLOG. I REALLY LOVE THIS PIECE. FOR ME,LETTING GO HAS BECOME THE EASIEST THING TO DO. FIVE RELATIONSHIPS AND ALL GONE DOWN THE DRAIN, ALL BECAUSE OF DISTANCE AND THEY ALL HAVING THE FEELING THAT I AM CHEATING ON THEM. LOST COUPLE OF RELATIVE TO THE COLD HAND OF DEATH AND THEN I HAVE TO LET GO. I JUST LOVE THIS, IT MAKES ME REFLECTS…………….

    • B says:

      Am glad you liked it.
Good thing it has become easy for you because for most people, it is the hardest thing to do.
Sorry to hear those that are gone.

      I hope everything’s well now.

      Love,
      B
